RPDAC Meeting Addresses Concerns of NLC Project-Affected Families

A major Rehabilitation and Peripheral Development Advisory Committee (RPDAC) meeting was held to discuss the concerns of people affected by NLC projects in the Jharsuguda and Sambalpur regions. The meeting brought together elected representatives, senior district officials and other stakeholders to review issues related to rehabilitation, compensation, employment and development in project-affected areas.

Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan, Rengali MLA Sudarshan Haripal and senior officials participated in the discussions. Particular attention was given to the difficulties faced by families whose land and livelihoods have been affected by industrial and mining activities. Issues concerning employment opportunities, self-employment support, skill development and rehabilitation measures were also discussed. A sub-committee is being formed to examine grievances and work towards practical solutions. The meeting is significant because rehabilitation and local development remain important concerns in areas surrounding major industrial projects in Jharsuguda.
