A major Rehabilitation and Peripheral Development Advisory Committee (RPDAC) meeting was held to discuss the concerns of people affected by NLC projects in the Jharsuguda and Sambalpur regions. Jharsuguda is set to receive a major infrastructure boost following the approval of large-scale railway multi-tracking projects by the Union Cabinet. The projects, estimated at around ₹10,783 crore, cover approximately 656 kilometres across several states and include a fourth railway line on the Kharagpur–Jharsuguda section.
