Air connectivity between Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar received a boost with Star Air resuming its flight service from September 4. The service is expected to make travel between western Odisha and the state capital more convenient for passengers, business travellers and visitors. Improved air connectivity can also support tourism, trade, employment and investment opportunities in the region. For Jharsuguda, which has a growing industrial and commercial profile, regular flight connectivity remains an important part of strengthening its position as a major economic centre in western Odisha.The Union Cabinet has approved major railway multi-tracking projects that include a fourth railway line on the Kharagpur–Jharsuguda section. The project is part of a larger ₹10,783-crore railway expansion package covering 656 km across five states. The additional railway capacity is expected to improve train movement, reduce congestion and support faster transportation of freight and passengers. Since the Kharagpur–Jharsuguda route is an important corridor for industrial and mineral transportation, the expansion could further strengthen connectivity and logistics in and around Jharsuguda.
