The additional railway capacity is expected to improve train movement, reduce congestion and support faster transportation of freight and passengers. Since the Kharagpur\u2013Jharsuguda route is an important corridor for industrial and mineral transportation, the expansion could further strengthen connectivity and logistics in and around Jharsuguda.A significant meeting of the <strong>Rehabilitation and Peripheral Development Advisory Committee (RPDAC)<\/strong> was held in Jharsuguda concerning people affected by the NLC coal mining project. The meeting focused on rehabilitation, peripheral development and issues faced by families and communities affected by project activities.
